Old Edwards Inn and Spa

Our stay at Old Edwards Inn was outstanding from start to finish. From the champagne welcome to the warm, cozy rooms, every detail impressed us. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Madison’s, relaxing time on the rooftop terrace, and a charming lunch in the Wine Garden. The spa’s couples massage was a true highlight, making our weekend even more special. We even switched to a cottage mid-stay, which did not disappoint. The heated pools also allowed us to enjoy the outdoors even in cooler weather. Highly recommend Old Edwards Inn for a romantic getaway or a relaxing long weekend!

Old Edwards Inn is even more amazing than I imagined. It is quietly elegant with beautiful architecture and furnishings, and offers so much diversity in restaurant/cocktail areas, room options, and quiet areas. Just to wander around the grounds is a pleasure. The spa is an incredible experience with its attentive, top notch staff and its quiet/meditation areas with fires and water features. The attention to detail is exquisite. The small details that are meticulously added such as the attendant greeting you when you pull in, the porter explaining all of the room details when he brings your bags in to your room, umbrellas at entry/exit areas when it rains, the turn down service turning on the fire on a cold evening, shutting the curtains/shutters, warming the floor tiles and heated towel rack. In short, Old Edwards Inn goes above and beyond to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.

Our stay at the Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, NC, was truly lovely. The property itself is beautiful. The room at The Lodge was adequate and comfortable. What truly made the experience memorable was the staff; they were exceptionally attentive and polite throughout our stay. Adriana deserves a special mention for providing such a warm and welcoming arrival. We also thoroughly enjoyed our dining experiences: both dinner and breakfast at Madison were very nice. We highly recommend this charming destination.

First time at Old Edwards Inn and Spa and what a fabulous time. The service is wonderful there from the second you check in and are greeted with champagne. We selected the anniversary package which included a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, spa credit and dinner at Madison. This allowed us to enjoy everything the Inn has to offer. James, the bellman, went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of from the moment we arrived and when we needed anything in our room. It was also really nice having the virtual assistant to help before arrival and during the stay. We are already looking for a weekend we can return to this wonderful town and beautiful inn.

Fantastic weekend trip that didn’t disappoint. Couples massage first day on property and 18 holes of golf and lunch at Old Edwards Club the following morning was phenomenal. Highly recommend and will definitely be back in the near future.

We had dinner on Christmas Eve at the Old Edwards Inn. From Mary who greeted us when we got there our evening was fabulous. Shafay, our waiter, provided amazing service - 12 on a scale from 1 to 10. Ana, the Sam was very knowledgeable about wines and what we ordered. We met Melissa Delaney. Who is an amazing salesperson. She has almost convinced us to move Highlands. Maybe that is in the cards Thank you to the entire staff for making our Christmas Eve so memorable.

Old Edwards Inn is absolutely beautiful — a true gem in Highlands. The hotel itself is stunning, with plenty of hiking nearby to enjoy the mountains and fresh air. The spa is so relaxing, with multiple relaxation rooms and one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The food across all the restaurants is excellent, with Four65 being a standout favorite. I’ve been to Highlands many times and usually stay at a house, but we decided to treat ourselves at the hotel this time — and it was so worth it. The rooms are very updated, spacious, and comfortable, making the stay feel extra special. I’ve also attended three weddings here, and it’s hands down the best wedding food I’ve ever had. If you’re planning a wedding, definitely go with stations instead of a sit-down dinner — the stations are social, offer tons of food choices, and the spread is both beautiful and delicious. It truly makes for a memorable event. Beyond that, there’s so much to do on the property — from the amazing pool to croquet, cozy fireplaces, and more. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, especially the president and managing director, Richard, and his wife Melissa. Their presence and kindness really make the experience feel even more personal. All in all, Old Edwards Inn & Spa is not just a hotel, but a full experience. Whether you’re visiting for a getaway, a wedding, or just to enjoy Highlands, it’s a place that never disappoints. Highly recommend!

A lovely place to stay. Staff was exceptional in every way. Location could not have been more convenient. Truly one of the best places we have visited. Look forward to returning again.
